Matchday: Cambridge United vs Stevenage

24 April 2021

Stevenage are on the road for the penultimate away day of the season to take on promotion chasing Cambridge United in Sky Bet League Two for a 3pm kick-off...

Alex Revell's men head into Saturday's game knowing that defeat would cause promotion for their local rivals. After a run of three losses on the spin for Stevenage, that is motivation enough to stop the current run and turn a corner as the season draws to a close over the next few weeks.

Back in December, Boro picked up their third win of the season against Saturday's opponents, thanks to a first half Charlie Carter strike. The same fixture last season is one that will stick in the memory for a while, after goals from Elliott List, Jake Cassidy, Charlie Carter & Charlie Lakin earnt Boro an extraordinary 4-0 win at the Abbey Stadium.

On Friday we caught up with boss Alex Revell ahead of the game, and discussed what to expect from today's opponents, what his side will need to do to spoil the party and also a brief word on the three Academy players who signed professional contracts earlier this week.
