Club wins Best Company - Pride of Stevenage 2020 Award

16 April 2021

Stevenage Football Club and Stevenage FC Foundation have today received the Best Company Pride of Stevenage 2020 award for the Club's support to residents of our local community over the last year...

The Pride of Stevenage Awards recognise those who made a difference during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, and with thanks to over 100 staff and volunteers, the Coronavirus Community Careline did its utmost to support and engage with the people of Stevenage.

Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Jim Brown said, "This year's award goes to Stevenage Football Club and Foundation. Congratulations to you. All six judges on our judging panel chose you as our winners. Their reason was very simple. They believe and I agree that Stevenage Football Club demonstrated during the lockdown how you are at the heart of the local community.

The brand new services you created to deliver food, emotional support, shopping and medication to people who needed it was impressive, caring, thoughtful and selfless.

Well done on behalf of Stevenage Borough Council and the people of Stevenage".

CEO Alex Tunbridge said, "The Club would like to say thank you to all its staff, players and volunteers who gave up their time to make the Community Careline possible during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic.

We consider ourselves at the heart of our community, and we are truly proud to be named the Best Company in the Pride of Stevenage Awards 2020”.
