Terence Vancooten extends Stevenage stay

5 August 2021

Stevenage Football Club has agreed an extended contract with defender Terence Vancooten…

The 23-year-old has signed a new two-year deal and is set for his fifth season at The Lamex Stadium, after joining from Reading in July 2017.

Last season, his performances in League Two for Stevenage and on the international stage with Guyana have continued to impress, with Championship clubs following his progress.

“It is a pleasure to sign a new contract”, Vancooten said. “I have enjoyed my football over the last twelve months and with the way pre-season has gone and the way we are playing now, I cannot wait to get started again on Saturday”.

“When speaking to the manager, he mentioned his plans for the new season and the role he wants me to play in them. It was an easy decision as I know the gaffer believes in me, and it’s great to be wanted by the Club.”

“Having fans in the stadium is a feeling I have missed. It will be nice to get that adrenaline rush before the game, and hopefully give the fans the positive season they deserve”.
