Revell: "Continue what we are doing"

Alex Revell says that his team are showing ‘real confidence’ in the build up to Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two match against Tranmere Rovers, following a recent turn in form from his side…

Stevenage have lost just once in their last seven league games, are unbeaten in their last three and have won their last two. The results have seen Boro move out of the relegation zone and back amongst the pack heading into this weekend’s game.

“The message is clear. Continue what we are doing. They have set standards that are higher than we have seen for a long time. We know what it takes to win games – hard work, energy, intensity and then on top of that the quality of play at times recently has been fantastic so we have to keep producing those kind of performances.”

“Wins bring confidence. The team has been full of it this week and you can see a difference. A difference in the way we are working, more intense and more of a focus on how we are playing. The players are enjoying and when you are enjoying winning games, enjoying playing and enjoying training, that is what you want to create.

“We know we are in a good place with that and we have got to continue our good form in the (upcoming) games.

With a busy schedule coming up, which includes four back-to-back weeks of midweek and weekend’s games, Revell says this free week has been invaluable.

“It has been a really good week,” he said. “For the first time in a while we have had a real opportunity to make sure we get some good information into the players building up to a league game.

“In terms of workload now, we know that after this Saturday we have a lot of games coming up so it was really important to get as much information as we could into them in terms of how we want to continue what we are doing. It has been a really good, fun week and the players are showing real confidence which is great to see.”
