Bradley Barry signs for Boro

8 July 2021

Stevenage Football Club has agreed terms with defender Bradley Barry…

The 26-year-old full back joins from Barrow AFC where he spent the last two seasons, winning promotion to the EFL in 2019/20. Barry started his football career progressing through the Academy at Brighton & Hove Albion, before making over 120 appearances for Swindon Town and Chesterfield.

“Stevenage are a great club, and that is why I am here”, said Bradley Barry. “I have spoken to the manager, and I like the way he wants to play. I played against Stevenage last season, and the way they played in the second half of the campaign suited me completely.”

“I met the rest of the squad today, and I already feel welcome into the group. I played with Charlie Carter at Chesterfield and Luke Norris at Swindon Town – I got on really well with those two, so it is good to see familiar faces.”

Coincidentally, Stevenage’s first game of the Sky Bet League Two campaign is against Barry’s former employers Barrow. “I knew that was going to happen. I am here and Stevenage now and I want to win football games. I will always have a soft spot for Barrow but now my love is Stevenage. We want to win games and entertain the fans”.

Bradley Barry’s versatility bolsters Alex Revell’s defensive options in the full back positions, while the defender also provides cover in midfield. Barry becomes Stevenage’s sixth new signing of the summer and joins up with the squad for pre-season at Bragbury End.
