Stevenage FC Education & Development Programme Trials take place next month

Trials for Stevenage FC Academy's Education & Development Programme are to be held at Marriotts School next month...

Following the success of this year's Education & Development Programme squad reaching the EFL CEFA National Cup final for the first time in Academy history, the Club is pleased to host the latest day of trials for our EDP, taking place in August 2021 at Marriotts School.

In addition to the successful cup run, the EDP continues to impress with graduate Timmy Smith earning himself a professional contract with Stevenage FC in April – becoming the first EDP student to do so.

Further to that, current EDP tutor and ex-professional footballer Mark Bentley received the Teaching & Learning Award from Virtual Learning UK earlier this week.

The coaching is delivered by UEFA qualified coaches who have Safeguarding accreditations and Enhanced DBS checks. All coaches have a vast amount of experience of coaching at elite levels.

Alongside the coaching, the education side allows student to gain a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport. The Level 3 BTEC is the equivalent of gaining 3 A-Levels.

The Trial will take place on 3G pitches and players will be required to wear suitable training kit, shin pads, boots suitable for the 3G surface and a water bottle/sports drink.

Date: Tuesday 3^rd/10^th/17^th August 2021
Time: 11am - 12.30pm. Presentation 1pm (25 minutes).
