This Saturday’s clash will be Pollard’s first in Sky Bet League Two this campaign, having only officiated in two Papa John’s Trophy cup ties so far. Last season, the referee was certainly not afraid to show his cards, handing out a total of 91 cards in 25 games. Eight of those were red cards, including two back-to-back fixtures which saw Pollard reveal his red twice in each contest.
His most recent Stevenage fixture was Boro’s first clash of 2021 as Alex Revell’s men welcomed Scunthorpe United to The Lamex Stadium, defeating The Iron 3-1 through a brace from Charlie Carter and a 90th minute winner from Aramide Oteh. Five yellow cards were handed out on that day.
Pollard will be joined by Assistants Scott Williams and Damith Bandara with Andy Bennett as Fourth Official.
