Stevenage Football Club is encouraging supporters to show their support for the Club’s youth set-up by holding its latest Academy Day next week…
Taking place on Saturday 2nd October 2021, fans are invited to watch the Under 18s take on Southend United at Shephalbury Sports Academy at 10:30am, before making their way to The Lamex Stadium to watch the First Team take on Hartlepool United at 3pm.
The Club’s Academy continues to thrive in developing young players playing under the Academy umbrella, with more graduating to the First Team than ever before.
Currently, the Academy has 90 players who represent Stevenage FC, 350 youngsters in the Club's Player Pathway and 48 Elite Development Programme students. 45 members of staff work at Shephalbury Sports Academy and in the last five years, 11 players have graduated to sign a professional contract.
Recent success stories include graduate Jack Smith winning the Club’s 2020/21 Young Player of the Year Award, youngster Leke Drake signing for Manchester City in June 2021, as well as Alfie Williams, Timmy Smith and Sam Dreyer signing professional contracts in April of last season.
Start your day next Saturday at Shephalbury Sports Academy in the morning and watch our Under 18s take on Southend United in the EFL Youth Alliance South-East league, before heading down to The Lamex Stadium as Stevenage FC face Hartlepool United in an important Sky Bet League Two fixture.
All members of the Academy set-up will be in attendance at The Lamex Stadium including players in the U9-U18 age groups, EDP scholars and Development Centre & Player Pathway participants.
With the two sites separated by a mere mile, Academy Day is a fantastic opportunity to show your support for the Club’s youth set-up as well as the First Team in the same day.
Entry to Shephalbury Sports Academy for the Under 18s game is free of charge, while supporters can purchase tickets for the Hartlepool United game from www.borotickets.co.uk.
