Sadly, earlier this year, Martin was diagnosed with the incurable and irremediable condition of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). The condition is closely associated with Parkinson’s disease but with rapid deterioration of nerve cells in the brain.
Martin currently receives 24-hour care at home, and any money raised from the benefit golf day will be split between specialist care and an MSA charity.
Taking place at Mill Green Golf Club in Hatfield, the event will see teams of three play with one member of Stevenage FC past or present in four balls.
On Wednesday 6th October 2021, players should arrive at the Golf Centre for 11am where Tea/Coffee and Bacon Rolls will be available, in advance of a midday tea time.
Followed by a one course meal, entry costs £60 per head or £150 per team of three. Players/businesses can sponsor a hole for £100 each or sponsor the tournament for circa £2,000.
