Charles Breakspear has been appointed Match Referee for Stevenage’s crucial away fixture in Essex against Colchester United…
The referee has been officiating in The EFL since 2013 after previously overseeing non-league ties. So far this season, Breakspear has not been afraid to show his cards, dishing out 145 yellows and six reds in just thirty-two games. His most recent EFL fixture was last weekend’s game between Tranmere and Carlisle in which two red cards were handed out for Tranmere Rovers.
The last time Breakspear was the man in the middle for a Stevenage fixture was in November 2021 as Boro welcomed Cambridge United to The Lamex for a Papa John’s Trophy Group Stage tie. Stevenage won 1-0 on the day thanks to an Elliott List goal while four yellow cards were dished out.
Breakspear will be joined by Assistants Paul Yates and Garry Maskell with Declan O’Shea as Fourth Official.
