Andy Woolmer has been appointed Match Referee for Stevenage’s clash with Joey Barton’s Bristol Rovers this Saturday in Sky Bet League Two…
The referee has taken charge of twenty-three EFL matches so far this campaign, fifteen of which were in The Championship. He has dished out seventy-eight yellow cards this season as well as one red card in a Sky Bet League One fixture between Rotherham and Accrington Stanley earlier this month. Woolmer’s most recent match was last Saturday as Fulham defeated Hull City 1-0, in a game in which Aleksandar Mitrovic equalled the record for most goals in The Championship in one season.
The last time Woolmer oversaw a Stevenage match was in August 2021 as Luton Town travelled to The Lamex Stadium for a clash in the First Round of the Carabao Cup. Boro drew 2-2 with the Championship side before winning 3-0 on penalties due to Joseph Anang saving every Luton penalty.
Woolmer will be joined by Assistants George Byrne and Sam Lewis, with Sam Allison as Fourth Official.
