The referee has overseen twenty-three fixtures in the EFL this campaign, handing out seventy-nine yellow cards and just the one red. The red card was revealed just three weeks ago in a Sky Bet League Two fixture between MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon.
His most recent Stevenage match was back in January 2021 as Boro travelled to Grimsby for a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Matt Stevens and Elliott List. Two yellow cards were dished out that day.
Backhouse will be joined by Assistants Ollie Williams and Gary Hilton with Benjamin Speedie as Fourth Official.
