Darren Handley has been appointed Match Referee for Stevenage’s trip to Barrow this Saturday in Sky Bet League Two…
The referee has taken charge of just six EFL fixtures this season, starting on New Year’s Day in a 0-0 draw between Hartlepool and Oldham. Handley has handed out twenty-two yellow cards in those six games, revealing his red card just once. The red card was dished out in Exeter’s 2-0 win away to Walsall, reducing the hosts to ten men.
Handley’s most recent Stevenage fixture was in January 2020 as Boro travelled to Bristol Rovers in the Football League Trophy, coming away with a 1-0 win. Seven yellow cards were issued in the game with Ed Upson, who was playing for Rovers at the time, receiving a red card.
Handley will be joined by Assistants Peter Gooch and Matthew Parry with Andy Haines as Fourth Official.
