Stevenage Football Club have been handed a trip to Championship Reading in Round One of this season’s Carabao Cup, as well as a repeat of last season’s opponents in the Papa John’s Trophy…
Steve Evans’ men will travel to Berkshire and the Select Car Leasing Stadium in August to take on Paul Ince’s Royals – our first away League Cup tie since 2018. The tie is scheduled to be played week commencing August 8th, 2022.
In addition to the Carabao Cup draw, it was revealed that Tottenham Hotspur’s Under 21s will once again visit The Lamex Stadium, adding to Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanders in the Southern Group D in the Papa John’s Trophy group stage.
Papa John’s Trophy Southern Group D:
- Stevenage
- Peterborough United
- Wycombe Wanderers
- Tottenham Hotspur U21s
Stevenage will play against each of the three teams once, with the top two finishers in the group progressing into the knockout stages of the competition.
