The Mitchell Cole Memorial Tournament returns this Saturday at Arlesey Town Football Club…
Former Stevenage Borough, Oxford United, Stotfold, Hitchin Town, Biggleswade Town, Arlesey Town (& more) fan favourite Mitchell Cole sadly passed away in 2012 due to the deteriorating heart condition, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Since Mitchell’s passing, his former Clubs’ supporters have raised thousands of pounds for Cardiomyopathy UK, who are a leading UK based heart muscle charity.
With the first game kicking off at 10am on Saturday 28th May, the tournament pits six teams, including Stevenage Supporters’ Association FC, against rival sides in the name of charity to raise funds for the organisation that worked closely with Mitchell and helps those affected by cardiomyopathy.
The matches will last 21 minutes each in honour of Mitchell Cole’s shirt number, with the winners taking home the Mitchell Cole Memorial trophy.
Entry to the Armadillo Stadium is free of charge, and with hot food available, a bar with live sport, a raffle with priceless prizes, the day promises to be a fantastic occasion for a heartfelt cause.
