With teams from Under 6s up to Under 12s, The Lamex Stadium transformed for the weekend to host the most prestigious six-a-side grassroots football tournament in Hertfordshire.

Over 60 youth teams took part, showcasing local community’s footballing talent and potential at the home of Stevenage Football Club.

“What a fantastic weekend we had at The Lamex Cup”, said Jorden Gibson, Operations Manager at Stevenage FC Academy. “The talent on show showcased the quality of work going into grassroots football. We were impressed and thankful for the efforts shown by many football clubs”.

“My sincere thanks to all of our Academy staff who supported the weekend, and especially the extensive work that Tom Malins, Tom Farr and Josh Caldicott-Stevens did to provide a competitive but entertaining weekend”

“We also had lads from our Elite Development Programme (Jamie, Taylor, Kian, Marcel, McKenzie and Garrett) and Academy (Oliver R, Under 15s) help with various roles”.

“Thanks to all who helped & took park in making The Lamex Cup such an enjoyable weekend. See you all in 2023!”
