Stevenage Football Club announces intake of new scholars ahead of the 2023/24 season…
Ahead of the upcoming campaign, our different age groups have reported back to Shephalbury Sports Academy to continue their development at Stevenage Football Club.
All players in their Under-17 year must start the season on a scholarship agreement before they are permitted to sign a first professional football contract on or after their 17th birthday.
We spoke to Academy Manager Jorden Gibson about the seven new scholars:
- Albie O’Keefe
“Albie has been with the Club since Under 9s and progressed through to becoming a first-year scholar. A strong technical midfielder with plenty of Under 18s experience already”.
- Ellis Bates
“Ellis is a dynamic central defender who leads by example and enjoys the physical side of the game”.
- Kai Pitts-Lewis
“Kai has progressed through our pathway system and spent his first year on our Education & Development Programme (EDP). A goal scorer who has always produced in U18s fixtures. A Stevenage fan as well!”
- Louie Henry
“Louie is a left-back who has progressed from Under 9s. A solid player and another who loves the physical side of the game. A calming technician with plenty of Under 18s experience. Louie is the son of Club record appearance holder Ronnie Henry!”.
- Michael Buckmaster
“Michael has the traits of both a central defender and midfielder. A lovely differentiation in passing ranges that are key to unlocking the opposition”.
- Tanil Salik
“Tanil is a dynamic wide player who works incredibly hard. He's a player who loves to take players on and can produce when it counts. Tanil is also a part of the Asian Inclusion Mentoring Scheme (AIMS) with the PFA”.
- Zack Howell
“Zack came to us late last season and impressed with his desire and endeavour. He signed after a spell with a Premier League side. A full back with a powerful engine”.
