A message from Stevenage Football Club about racism and discrimination ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Wigan Athletic…
At Stevenage FC we believe that football is a game for everyone and we are proud of the welcoming atmosphere that you create at The Lamex Stadium every matchday.
However, every season, there are hundreds of reports of discrimination across the game, and likely more that go unrecorded.
As part of the EFL’s Together Against Racism campaign we are calling on you, our supporters, to make a difference and report any incidents of racism or discrimination you see or hear in the ground today and at all matches in the future.
Reporting discrimination helps remove unwanted behaviour from football stadiums, allows us to identify abusers and ensure victims get the support they need, creating a safer environment for everyone to attend football matches.
Stevenage FC and all of football stands Together against Racism and all forms of discrimination.
Enjoy the game.
Supporters are reminded that Stevenage Football Club has an anonymous Matchday Textline that can be used to report any cases of abuse or discrimination.
Stevenage Football Club prides itself on delivering a family-friendly matchday experience for all supporters, and promotes an equal opportunities environment irrespective of people’s faith, gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation or disability.
Fans can anonymously message the Matchday Control Room direct on 07935 577897 to report any signs of abuse, anti-social behaviour, foul/abusive language or discrimination within the stadium.
This information will then be processed confidentially in line with the Club’s data processes and where deemed necessary suitable action will be considered and taken.
There is absolutely no place for abuse or discrimination at The Lamex Stadium and supporters found responsible for such behaviour will face the most severe of sanctions.
