Steve Evans previews AFC Wimbledon (A)

4 September 2023

We caught up with Manager Steve Evans ahead of Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy opener away at AFC Wimbledon…

“Tomorrow night is another tough game away from home, but I will not hide away from the fact that we will make a vast number of changes to the team”, said the Gaffer.

“Several youngsters are deserving of a First Team platform and that is recognised by the coaching staff and myself.

“We have to recover the boys from Saturday and get them in a good place for Carlisle United at The Lamex Stadium on Saturday.

“It goes without saying we want to compete and win, but League One is really tough for us to compete in when you see the size of clubs and the team budgets that go with them.

“Every game we play will be about what we do, how much we learn and how we improve as each week goes by.

“This football club is in great shape on and off the pitch. Our leader, Chairman Phil Wallace and his board of Directors lead us by example - work hard, remain humble and focus on each task”.
