Support Saturday’s Garden House Hospice Care matchday

10 April 2024

Our home fixture vs Burton Albion on Saturday 13th April is dedicated to the Club’s Official Charity Partner, Garden House Hospice Care…

This season’s partnership has seen the Club and Garden House Hospice Care work together to raise awareness of the charity, highlight its work in the community and fundraise for its free palliative care.

To celebrate this relationship, our First Team will be wearing the limited edition Garden House Hospice Care Third Shirt at The Lamex Stadium for Saturday’s fixture vs Burton Albion in Sky Bet League One.

All match-worn shirts will be signed and auctioned off after the game to help raise funds.

We’re encouraging fans to show their support to the charity by wearing their own 2023/24 third shirt, or any of the past yellow Stevenage away kits (1996/97, 2000/02, 2010/11 etc).

A bucket collection and raffle will also be taking place to help raise money for the hospice at The Lamex Stadium on Saturday, so please give generously when you see the volunteers around the ground and inside the bars. Every penny raised on Saturday will directly support families living in Stevenage at a time that matters most.

Last year, Garden House Hospice Care supported over 300 families living in Stevenage alone. They need to raise £15,300 every day - up from £9,700 last year to continue providing their services in Stevenage and across the rest of North Hertfordshire and surrounding villages and towns and they need your support now more than ever.

We’ll also have some extra half-time entertainment as Garden House Hospice Care’s ‘Harry The Bear’ takes on our very own Boro’ Bear in a halfway line sprint and shoot goal challenge.

Replica jerseys are available to purchase at www.stevenagefcshop.com and from the Stevenage FC Club Shop, with 25% of net profit benefiting compassionate care for local people facing a life-limiting illness in Stevenage and beyond.

Garden House Hospice Care provides a wide range of services for patients, their carers, and families facing a life-limiting illness. Free specialist palliative care is provided to over 900 adults a year living with advanced cancer, motor neurone disease or other life-limiting conditions in our community of 230,000 people in North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and surrounding towns and villages of Central Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

£7.7 million in total income needs to be raised yearly to run the charity’s services - only a third of this is received from the NHS. The hospice relies on the support of charitable donations, including fundraising, to help run its services.
