Farman began his career as a Newcastle United youngster before going out on loan to several nearby sides including Blyth Spartans and Washington. He then joined Gateshead in 2009 where he spent three years with The Tynesider’s including a loan spell with Lincoln City in the 2011/12 season. After his loan spell with the club, Farman joined Lincoln in 2012 where he would go on to enjoy promotion and a historic FA Cup run with the Imps. He too earned the supporter’s player of the season award in 2015.

On joining Stevenage after eight years at Lincoln, Farman believes that his move to the Boro was the right time to move, and went on to say, ‘I want to be a settled keeper at Stevenage’. With manager Dino adding he had been monitoring Paul for a number of years, he feels as if the 29 year old has a lot to offer for the club both on and off of the pitch saying ‘He is a winning player. He knows how to win games and we need as many of those players as possible in our dressing room.’
