Club Captain Lucy Webster has previously played for teams such as Luton and Watford. She is a true professional making 50 appearances for Luton and Stevenage since starting her career. As a player who currently works for the club’s foundation, Webster made her unofficial debut in September 2019 in a 6-0 home defeat to Ipswich Town. Thanks to COVID the season was voided, meaning the official debut for Lucy was in August 2021 in a 4-0 defeat against Cambridge City. Thanks to an ankle injury, Lucy is not expected to take part in the 23/24 season after undergoing surgery earlier this season, with a lot of help from the Stevenage fans who set up a fundraiser to get the captain back on her feet. Having made exactly 50 appearances for both Boro’ and Luton she has scored one more goal for Stevenage, and her ability to surge forward with the ball is as graceful as it is powerful and impactful. The club cannot wait to have Lucy back on the pitch where she belongs.
