Hundreds of children in teams from Under 6s to Under 12s took to the surface of The Lamex Stadium, showcasing the talent of our local community’s grassroots football.
“What a weekend”, exclaimed Academy Manager Jorden Gibson. “We witnessed some excellent football, plenty of smiles and a great atmosphere overall with plenty of winners.
“We couldn’t have done it without the support of all the Academy staff who made the three days worthwhile, with special thanks to Tom Farr, Chris Barrell, Louis Hrebeniak, Kush Patel and Josh C-Stevens.
“The Lamex Cup will be back in 2024, and we intend to increase the number of teams in each age group, and we can’t wait to welcome back old faces and hopefully even more new ones.
“Finally, huge thanks to the clubs who participated, all the parents, spectators and volunteers who made the tournament so enjoyable. Grassroots is full of passionate people, and it was clearly on show through the weekend.
“Thank you & see you next year!”
