Stevenage look to get another big three points on the board as Fleetwood Town arrive at The Lamex Stadium…

Just eleven matches in Sky Bet League One remain for Stevenage as they find themselves in the middle of a tense race for the play-offs. The side sit sixth in the table, after earning 17 wins from 35 games this season, and are three points clear of Oxford United, who sit in seventh.

Boro are looking to make it four games unbeaten on Saturday after winning two home games in the space of four days, before picking up a hard-earned point away to Lincoln last weekend.

In their last two home games, Stevenage earned professional 1-0 victories over Wycombe Wanderers and Cambridge United, with Carl Piergianni and Jordan Roberts grabbing the goals.

The Opposition

Fleetwood have struggled for consistent results all season, and now find themselves inside the relegation zone, seven points from safety. Despite their position in the league, the ‘Cod Army’ have found some form over the last couple of weeks, as they also look to make it four games unbeaten.

Last weekend, Fleetwood earned one of their biggest results of the season as they hosted Wigan Athletic at Highbury Stadium. Despite going into the break with the scoreline at 2-2, second half goals from Gavin Kilkenny and Jayden Stockley awarded Fleetwood a thrilling 4-2 victory.

Fleetwood may prove to be a tougher opponent than the league table suggests, but Stevenage are no strangers to getting one over the Cod Army. Earlier in the season, Boro travelled to Lancashire and earned a comfortable 3-0 victory, with Jamie Reid, Ben Thompson and Elliott List putting their names on the scoresheet.

The Manager

Charlie Adam is currently enjoying his first managerial spell in football after being appointed Fleetwood Town manager on New Years’ Eve. As a player, Adam made over 200 Premier League appearances for Stoke City, Liverpool and Blackpool.

The Officials

Adam Herczeg has been appointed Match Referee for Saturday’s clash, with Chris Wade and Paul Evans as his Assistants and Daniel Cook as Fourth Official. Herczeg has dished out 78 yellow cards and 1 red in 26 games so far this season.
